Surfing in Kenting

This is my second time going to Kenting.  The first time was about water activities, food, sightseeing, and chilling.  This time, it was about surfing.

Kenting is a simple, quiet area which offers little of everything else and plentiful of beaches and waves.  Kenting is often visited most by couples, families with children, and high school students, as evident by the people we saw.  Besides the Kenting night market, there is little elsewhere that you would see crowds, particularly at night.  A 15 minute walk from our hostel and not a single sighting of a bar; this place does not have any entertainment after sunset except for the night market.  There’s even one nightclub, the King Night Club, which to be honest from the outside looks nothing like a nightclub – all I see are dart tables, and no trace of a dance floor.  (OK I’m on their Facebook and there are tables and chairs and you watch performances… and sometimes you can dance on the floor).  What can I say, we didn’t go in so maybe I shouldn’t be judging, but Kenting just isn’t a place for nightlife. Luxurious Airbnb Places Around The World

Got a bit of dough to throw around?  Want to impress your girlfriend/boyfriend?  Want some motivation in your life?  Look no further.  I’ve provided ten accommodations from Airbnb from around the world that will guarantee to make your wallet thinner.  I selected these accommodations based on pricing, uniqueness, and feel… some of the accommodations I saw, as expensive as they were, didn’t seem very “luxurious” and felt too “homey” for me.  I set out to find accommodations that define luxury.

Important Update (Nov. 8, 2022): Upon trying to repair the broken images on this page, I realize that 9 out of the 10 Airbnb links redirected you to their homepage airbnb.com, presumably because the original airbnbs aren’t listed anymore.  I apologise if you have been brought here. But don’t worry, I will be continuing to do top 10 airbnb places in different cities again soon. Continue reading Luxurious Airbnb Places Around The World

Amazing Bali

My first impression of Bali – I’m in a taxi (taksi) and there’s another taxi with no driver blocking our path.  My driver gets out and single handedly pushes the car away.

This is going to be an interesting place.

Within 10 minutes, I knew I was going to come back here – I had a good feeling about this place.  Twice have I ever felt this feeling – once in Las Vegas, then here.  And both times I’ve been extremely mesmerized.

While on the taxi ride to our villa, Bali reminded me of Cambodia a little bit, but a much more developed version of Cambodia.  You can also tell there were tourists left and right.  In fact, there was traffic even at 9:30pm – 10:00pm ish on a Thursday.  Even Hong Kong and Los Angeles doesn’t have this type of traffic at these time intervals.

In a way, it also reminded me of Phuket.  All the villas and stuff… but there were much nicer stores everywhere.  It felt much more urban and international.  You keep coming across Japanese and Chinese restaurants and the roads are very nice and not bumpy at all, very smooth (unlike Johannesburg and Cambodia). Cape Town Gorgeous

Hellooooo Cape Town Gorgeous!

Ask me where my favorite place is to drive, and Cape Town will probably be at the top.  It’s got one of the more scenic and beautiful views for a city.  In fact, Cape Town is probably one of my favorite places I have traveled, ever.  Beautiful weather, beautiful food, beautiful environment, beautiful prices, I mean everything was amazing here!  This is one of the must go to in your life!

*Note: I went during January, which was their summer time.

Side note: I was able to snatch a return plane ticket to Johannesburg for only HKD 50 (to everyone outside of HK that’s about USD 6.5).  Yup, HKD 50!!!  Not including tax and fuel surcharges of course, but still that all amounted to less than 20% of what it will usually cost me.  Had to thank my colleagues for letting me know about the 1st anniversary of fanfares by Cathay Pacific on the day of.
